Ca'n Fumat

In Binissalem, Ca’n Fumat is synonymous with wine. Joan Garcias Company was the first winemaker in the family, producing red wine as early as the 19th century from grapes grown in his own vineyards and those of Binissalem’s famous son, Gabriel Llabrés Quintana, known as “Professor Llabrés”, whose sharecopper he was.

His sons Miquel and Andreu continued this idea and produced wines in the Can Jan winery and in the Can Maria house, the latter in the municipality of Consell.

Today, at Ca’n Fumat, we lovingly handcraft a limited amount of wine from grapes grown in our own vineyards in Can Caleu, Es Verger, Es Figueral and Sa Quarterada, all in the municipality of Binissalem.

Preserving the local grape varieties is part of our understanding of the present, which is why we make our wines with the native varieties Manto Negro, Moll (or Premsal blanc) and Callet. Likewise, we have a small number of plants of the Syrah variety, which combine perfectly with our Manto Negro.

Ca’n Fumat is the brand name under which we offer our wines protected by the Binissalem Denomination of Origin.
