TALAIOT DE SON FRED (PREHISTORIC BUILDING). VISIT AND WINE TASTING DO BINISSALEM – May 25

Discover our heritage with a guided visit to the talaiot of Son Fred and a wine tasting of DO Binissalem.

Sencelles in the Talaiotic period (900-550 a.c.). The villages of Navetas were abandoned or transformed, definitively giving way to the “Talaiots” around 900 BC. Its main characteristic is the presence of imposing tower-shaped buildings, the talaiots, around which the houses were arranged.

Within the Sencelles-Costitx Archaeological Route, specifically in Sencelles, municipality of DO Binissalem, we find the talaiot of Son Fred, a building with a circular plan where collective acts of a political and economic nature were held that could take on a ritual form. From its roofs you had a good perspective on the territory and the herds and, in fact, there are also talaiots isolated between the towns as a watch tower…
